10/06/2015 - Vs NDSU

Hello All,

After coming off a big opening weekend against SDSU the Gophs had a lot of momentum heading into hosting NDSU. The Gophs have had a lot of tough battles with the Bison and this weekend was nothing different. Game 1 was lead by Senior Marshall Dalziel, he struck out 10, walked 4 and gave up 1 run (unearned), while getting the complete game. Marshall had a no-hitter through 6 1/3 before giving up back to back singles. The offense was lead by Austin Ridl who continued his hot streak picking up two doubles and an RBI. Dominic Wippler had a single and an RBI. Game two was a game that the Gophs struggled on the mound and at the plate losing 10-2. Two highlights were Erik Rosheim, he tossed 3 1/3 innings striking out 10 and walking 1. Freshman Brady Geronime went 3-3 with a run scored. Game three had big implications in the standings. The game was one that went down to the last at-bat Peter Haggerty hit a single in the bottom of the 7th to win the game. The team showed a lot of fight and willing to do anything to get the win. The Gophs improved their record to 4-2 which is second in the conference. They head out of the good ole US of A to take on Lakehead in Thunder Bay. Lakehead currently is in first place after recieving 3 forfeits from UW-Superior two weekends ago. Follow us on twitter this weekend to recieve some updates after games.
