Minnesota Club Baseball

04/27/2015 - St. Thomas and Gustavus

The Gophs finished three games this week against two great MIAC JV teams. The gophs lost the three games but with a depleated line up and good competition they showed signs of a great team. Thursday was a twin bill against St. Thomas. The Gophs started out strong and kept it going. They were up 8-1 going into the bottom of the 7th before the Tommies pushed across 8 to win 9-8. With a depleated staff game two was all Tommies with a commanding 7-0. Sunday the Gophs traveled down to St. Peter to take on Gustavus. With a handful of guys fighting the Spring Jam fever the team started slow and only pushed across 1 on a wild pitch. Plenty of scoring opportunities the team could not get that clutch hit. Minnesota will travel west on Friday to Brookings, SD to take on South Dakota State University with a twin bill Saturday at 2 and one Sunday at Noon. All games will be played in Aurora, SD.
