Minnesota Club Baseball

09/22/2014 - At NDSU

The team traveled west on I94 to open up against NDSU in Fargo, ND this past weekend. The team opened up with an experienced line up and sending Senior Austin Nordby to take the hill in game 1. Austin was pulled after two innings due to arm pain. The bats we alive in the first inning but NDSU shut them down after the first inning. Evan Dozier was looked at to keep the NDSU bats silent after Austin left and he did a good job but a hand ful of hits and they were able to push across four and win the ball game.

Game two was a completly different story for the U. They sent senior Marshall Dalziel to shut the Bison bats down and he did just that. He tossed four innings striking out seven (six came in the 2nd and 3rd inning). Newcomer Topher Rose came in and shut the door for the final three innings to earn his first save and secure Marshall's first career win for the team. The offense was fueled by newcomers Dominic Wippler who went 3-4 at the plate and veteren Austin Ridl who went 3-4 as well.

Game three was cancelled due to rain and that will be made up at a later date. The team has the weekend off and will travel up I35 on October 4th to take on newcomers to the NCBA UW-Superior. We would like to thank the fans that made the trip up to Fargo, it really made it fun playing in front of Maroon and Gold in the stands even though we were on the road.
